We are a group of musicians and friends, playing traditional Hungarian folk music from all Hungarian-speaking regions in the Carpathian Basin, using authentic instrumentation. The incredible variety and dynamics of these folk songs and music, whose tradition can be traced back for hundreds of years, has found many enthusiasts all over the world. The songs and music are still being sung and played in the villages and are part of a lively culture which we aim to foster and preserve. The music is closely tied to the corresponding dances, that are performed at specific events. Therefore, we are often supplying the live music to the performances of the Hungarian folk dance group Figuràs. But we have been very welcome guest performers at weddings or special occasions where a traditional hungarian ambience is desired, folk music with rich melodies and strangely familiar tunes, sometimes expressing soft sadness and melancholy, or great happiness and joy.
